This is a review course designed to refresh students' previous in-depth coursework and cover the basic public health competencies: biostatistics, epidemiology, program planning, health promotion (behavior change & health communication), environmental health (with occupational health), disparities, inequities, and cultural competence, leadership & management, health policy, public health ethics & professionalism, research methods, and systems approaches to public health.

Each topic will cover the competencies associated with the content of a full course in that domain. This course will remind the student of the basic principles and definitions within that competency and show how each is an essential component of public health practice. The culminating final assignment will test the student's ability to apply each of the domain learning to a representative public health problem in an integrated and coherent narrative.
